How it Works

The Science Behind the DefenderPad

The DefenderPad uses DefenderShield’s custom-developed Ultra Armor®+ shielding technology — a multi-layer RF and ELF shielding fabric engineered to conduct, absorb, and dissipate electromagnetic fields generated by your laptop before they reach your body.

EMF Shielding

The shielding layers within the DefenderPad intercept both RF radiation (from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and 5G signals) and ELF radiation (from the battery, processor, and power supply). The multi-layer shielding fabric conducts, absorbs, and dissipates electromagnetic energy, preventing it from penetrating downward through the pad to your lap. This is the same shielding principle used in military and industrial EMF protection, adapted for consumer use.

Thermal Protection

The Standard DefenderPad’s silicone top surface acts as a thermal barrier, blocking conducted heat from the laptop’s base. How to Use

Getting Set Up

1. Place the DefenderPad on your lap, desk, or any surface where you plan to use your device.

Position the pad with the non-slip surface facing up. The EMF shielding layers are built inside the pad and work in either orientation, but the Standard model’s silicone thermal barrier is on the top surface only — so keeping the non-slip side up ensures both EMF and heat protection, plus keeps your device stable.

2. Set your laptop, tablet, or device on top of the pad.

The DefenderPad works with all devices with up to 17″ (Standard) or 16″ (Lite) screens (measured diagonally). Smaller devices like tablets and gaming handhelds also benefit from shielding and heat protection.

3. Work, study, or play as usual.

Do not buy: Tablet / iPad EMF Radiation Protection Case - Large – Up to 12.5" x 9.25" Tablets

Hello, I was heard great reviews of this product: Tablet / iPad EMF Radiation Protection Case - Large – Up to 12.5" x 9.25" Tablets so I bought it. Within weeks the case broke off the iPad portion and I had to submit a warranty. They were great at replacing but when I got the replacement It broke in the very same place. I contact the warranty department for a refund because it's a faulty product they denied me because I was only due one replacement. I will never recommend this product to anyone. Beware of the poor quality.

DefenderPad Lite - lovely for travel

I typically have been using the EMF protection laptop sleeve for travel, however, it is larger than my laptop and was not really able to fit in some of my bags. I started using the DefenderPad Lite for travel and it is the perfect size! It fits my 16 inch laptop almost perfectly (it does go over on one side by a few millimeters) but I still feel protected and have noticed it does block most of the heat as well. Its thin but flexible and has held up nicely during my frequent travel the last month!

Next Gen of the DefenderPad Does Not Disappoint!

I found out about the DefenderPad about 8 years ago, and I've been using it ever since.
